It’s Time Again for VBS. Join us for some High Seas Adventures August 23rd—27th from 9 a.m.—12 noon. Cost is $25 per child. Children 4 years old by Dec. 1st—5th grade. HELP—OUR GARDEN NEEDS WATER. Last April the Garden Club planted over 100 donated plants. A sprinkler system for half of the garden was donated and installed. However, the water has not been connected and we don’t know when it will be. We need 7 volunteers to water 1 hour a week. Please sign up. Call Rose Phillips at 884-3057.

SUNKEN MEADOW BIBLE STUDY IS UNDERWAY. It is on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Paul Britton will be running it again this year. The theme this year is the I Am “sayings” from the Gospel of John. There is Holy Communion. Bring a chair. If you want to go call Grace Sougstad at 631-888-8548 to carpool.

MR. & MRS. POOLSIDE BRUNCH ~ The Mr. & Mrs. Club will have a Poolside Brunch on Sunday, August 22nd at the Businski’s from 12:30—4:30 p.m.
SEWING BEE NEWS: The Sewing Bee ladies are collecting “aluminum soda and beverage pull-tabs” for a project. Please save these from used beverage containers and place them in the envelope outside the church office. DONATIONS TO THE SEWING BEE ~ Donations of jewelry for the November Fair can be brought into the Church office at any time.
THE FOOD PANTRY IS IN NEED of volunteers for Friday nights from 5:00 p.m.—6:30 p.m. If you can help please call the church office.
HUNGER DOES NOT TAKE A VACATION. Please continue your support of our Food Pantry over the summer. Thank you for all your help in the past. If you know anyone who is in need of assistance, please refer them to the St. John's Food Panty. The pantry is very LOW on : Instant Potatoes, Toilet Paper, Jell-O, Pasta Sauce and Baked Beans. If you can help, please drop your donations off at the office or the food pantry. Thank you.
BLOOD DRIVE HERE AT ST. JOHN’S ~ Tomorrow Monday, July 26th, there will be a Blood Drive in Haegert Hall from 3—9 p.m. A college student, Joe Anchor, is holding a blood drive to earn money towards a scholarship at Suffolk Community College. FINANCIAL UPDATE: So far, 2nd quarter proceeds for 2010 are $236.75. The year-to-date proceeds for 2010 are $539.05. Since the start of this program in August 2007, we have raised $4,129.45.

THE LINDENHURST ROTARY CLUB ` 12th ANNUAL SNAPPER DERBY (catch & release) Saturday, August 28th, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Village Marina located on the bay at the southern end of South Wellwood Ave. This is a day of family oriented fun and sportsmanship for children of our community and also assist in the worthy fund-raising efforts of the Lindenhurst Rotary Club and the Lindenhurst Downtown Revitalization Committee.
